Birches Head
Medical Centre

Welcome to our new surgery website – we hope you find it useful

Quote / Testimonial:
We are a two-surgery practice of Birches Head Medical Centre in Birches Head and Hulton House Surgery in Abbey Hulton, Stoke-on-Trent.

We are a small, friendly, team here and pride ourselves on our friendly, approachable service.

Both surgeries are open to all of our patients for appointments, so if you are unable to book in at one, just ask us if you’d like to try to go to the other and we will do our best to arrange this for you.

We endeavour to assist quickly with all enquiries but please remember some may take longer to process than others.

111 is the NHS non-emergency number. It’s fast, easy and free. Call 111 and speak to a highly trained adviser, supported by healthcare professionals. They will ask you a series of questions to assess your symptoms and immediately direct you to the best medical care for you.

NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Calls are free from landlines and mobile phones.

In case of a life threatening emergency, please dial 999

THURSDAY Afternoons ONLY from 1pm – 6:30pm

From Thursday 6th April 2023, the practice’s phone lines will be covered by our colleagues from North Staffordshire GP Federation on THURSDAY AFTERNOONS.  So, if you need anything between 1 pm and 6:30 on a THURSDAY (only these times and only on a Thursday) then please ring 01782 651651.

At all other times, please ring the practice as normal or 111 when the practice is closed.

Online Services

You can use the NHS App to check your symptoms and get instant advice, book appointments, order repeat prescriptions, view your GP medical record and more. We have started to use Patient Triage. Patient triage is a safe way to start a routine consultation with your GP, to contact the Admin team with an administration request, to request fit or sick notes and prescriptions and to send over photos where you have been asked to do so.
